Through my enthusiasm and engaging lesson plans, I hope that my appreciation and love of education will be passed on to my students. I will encourage my students to challenge themselves as they take on difficult tasks and provide them with the proper support that they require to accomplish those tasks.

Each child is an individual with individual’s needs and development. I will treat each student as such by patiently listening to them and communicating what is expected of them. My standards and expectations will be high, but not unreasonable. The students will be judged on effort and levels of improvement. Through guided activities and independent work, basic technical skills and usage of creativity and imagination will be learned and rewarded.

For students to gain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the subject matter, it is important that they learn all aspects. Learning should not be limited to testing; it should include background knowledge, vocabulary, critical thinking and critique. In my classroom, students will learn the terminology needed to discuss their own ideas and the ideas of others. In order to accomplish these goals, it is imperative that I continue my own research in education and methods of teaching. Through seminars, trainings, and discussion with other educators, I hope to develop the most effective way of maintaining student interest and promote the greatest level of student learning.

I will always seek out new lessons, have lessons prepared and be willing to modify the lessons as necessary based on student needs. The lessons will not be too simplistic nor will they be too difficult. The students should be challenged, but not so they become frustrated. I will strive to set up a classroom environment that is visually inviting and reinforces the elements of education that students are expected to learn. Students should also be reminded that education is not limited to the classroom. The elements of education should be recognized in all aspects of their lives. With the proper care and guidance, I can show students how education can enhance all areas of their lives.
